All you need to broadcast on Performancecast.tv is a camcorder or webcam hooked up to an internet-connected PC or MAC computer with an an up-to-date browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed.
How do I start broadcasting?
Simply signup and then login add your stream name in the broadcaster application which will be the same as your login and click connect and then click start broadcast button, then begin boadcasting! You can also click this link Help to help you out even more.
What speed internet connection do I need to broadcast on Performancecast.tv?
A broadband connection is generally recommended, however you can broadcast live video on Performancecast.tv with as little as 100kbps of upload bandwidth. Check www.speedtest.net to see if you have the necessary upload connection speed.
What type of cameras are compatible with Performancecast.tv?
Any USB webcam and many USB/Firewire camcorders are supported by Performancecast.tv. Provided your computer recognizes your camera as a video device, you can broadcast from it. IP cameras are not supported.
To Broadcast Live from a venue or gig, what do I need?
You need a laptop with a mobile broadband internet connection, and either a webcam or firewire supported camcorder. Although many live venues will offer you an internet connection if you ask.
Can I embed Performancecast.tv on my MySpace/Website/Blog?
Yes! Simply click the "Share" button below the Live video window and select the site that you wish to embed into.
If I have Performancecast.tv video embedded on my personal site will it use my bandwidth?
No, it is still streamed from our servers.
How do I customize my bands Channel?
While we are still in beta pctv will build your channel for you but your are welcome to give design inputs and requests.
Which image formats does Performancecast.tv support in the design page?
The design page supports .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, formats.
How do I get more viewers for my bands channel?
You can promote your channel to your friends on MySpace, Twitter and various other social networking sites, or you can click the "Share" link below the video in your channel. Also you can add your shows to the scheduled broadcasts calendar.
Can I make an embedded chat?
Yes you can, simply click on the "embed this chat" link in the Chat area it will give you a code.
